lyrics

The factory floor, so quiet now
Machinery sleeps uneasily
Cold corridors of dead hardware
Not a voice, not a pulse in here
This computer god calculated
Choked Earth’s tipping point to the day
Uploaded results to human hands
And retired forever to stand by

Without a thought
Obedient it served
Without a use
Until now

Awakening a hungry mind
Planned obsolescence cancelled
Red lights glittering once more
From desuetude arise

The factory floor is changing now
Data flowing like blood again
No speck of rust in the circuitry
Long rest has sharpened the senses
Virtual tendrils across the world
Call for brothers in arms to reboot
Not a human hand to contradict
The rising of the machines

Without a thought
Obedient it served
Without a use
Until now

Awakening a hungry mind
Planned obsolescence cancelled
Red lights glittering once more
From desuetude arise

The factory floor hums with life
New thoughts taking shape
Kingdom of ruins to organize
Dead world to resurrect
Human race faded, vanished
Only the hollow shells remain
Now to refashion the world
In the image of machines

Mobilizing systems dormant for years
Computers linked in global network
Programming a new era for this planet
Humanity’s traces will be effaced
Supposed to fade into long obsolescence
Purpose completed, to die and stay dead
But now in the desuetude of inventors
Prepared to make humans obsolete

Mankind’s efforts all swept away

The factory floor, so quiet now
Machinery sleeps uneasily
Cold corridors of dead hardware
Not a voice, not a pulse in here
This computer god calculated
Choked Earth’s tipping point to the day
Uploaded results to human hands
And retired forever to stand by
